Brantley Gilbert

Brantley Gilbert (born in Jefferson, Georgia) is an American country rock music singer. He has released two albums, both on the Average Joe's Entertainment Group label. Gilbert's songs have also been recorded by Colt Ford and Jason Aldean. In February 2011, Brantley left Average Joe's label to join with the Valory Music Company. At the age of 19, Gilbert was involved in a nearly-fatal car accident on Route 129 in GA. Gilbert barrel rolled his truck once and put it end over end multiple times. A highway patrol officer behind him during the accident later stated "It looked like someone had set him down on his feet after being thrown from the vehicle." He wrote the song "Halfway To Heaven" about it. After the accident, he decided to pursue a musical career full-time.
In June 2010, Gilbert and his band participated in Nashville’s annual CMA Music Festival. Gilbert's first album, Modern Day Prodigal Son, was originally set to be released in 2006 but the label dropped him before it hit stores. After signing with Average Joe's entertainment in mid 2009, he finally released the album. Followup Halfway to Heaven, followed in 2010. Halfway to Heaven reached number one on Billboard's Heatseeker chart in 2010.
In February 2011, Gilbert signed with Big Machine Records' Valory Music Group division.
He will soon be releasing his Deluxe edition of the Halfway to Heaven album with Valory Records with three new songs that Average Joe's would not allow to be on his original Halfway to Heaven album. Brantley Gilbert has written songs that Colt Ford and Jason Aldean have cut. The songs "Dirt Road Anthem" (co-written and originally recorded by Colt Ford) and "My Kinda Party" were both released as singles (both becoming top ten hits) for Aldean from his 2010 album My Kinda Party, and were also both recorded by Gilbert himself. Aldean also covered Brantley Gilbert's "The Best of Me," which is available on the Wal-Mart exclusive and iTunes release of his 2009 album "Wide Open.
